For those wondering, I have not been able to post for the last month due to issues with my eyesight that caused me to be unable to see clearly enough to do any extended reading or typing, thus preventing me from keeping up my topics and threads, or posting anything else, for that matter.
However, there is some good news - today for the first time since the end of November I was able to see the words on the PC screen clearly and it was not just all a hazy blur difficult to make out.  Hopefully I will be able to continue to maintain the progress - but I am still being very careful not to put to much strain on my eyes for at least a while longer.  Hopefully I will be able to resume posting and maintaining my topics relatively soon.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Here's something I whipped up real quick for today - Armistice/Remembrance Day.
      Unforgotten
In our minds, now old and tired, do our colleagues dwell.
Forever young, they passed too soon,
      and left a hole unfilled.
But remember them we do -
their sacrifices, and their valor -
      their dreams, forever unfulfilled.
For now they rest 'neath plowed ground,
      eternally beyond all cares,
      deep in a timeless sleep,
the sleep that holds no fears.
So raise a glass and remember them,
whose glasses will now never be raised,
And never forget the reasons why,
as you bid them one last goodbye.

This has a particular place in my heart as a native born New Yorker who remembers that day.
On a gray morning in the skies over lower Manhattan, on this day 50 years ago, Philippe Petit stepped onto a wire strung 1,350 feet in the air between the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center, and began a 131 foot walk, which he repeated a number of times over the course of 45 minutes, a walk into the history, the legends, and the hearts of New York City.

Now, years after, most people recall the Twin Towers for that horrific day of September 11, 2001 - a day that I recall all too well, and wished I didn't.  But, when I think of the Twin Towers and the World Trade Center, I prefer to remember standing in the plaza and looking up at the towers, stretching up to the blue skies of New York City; or having lunch in the Windows On the World on a clear day, and being able to see for miles and miles; or an evening dinner there, and being able to see off in the distance, some 40 miles away, the flashing tower beacon that was near my home in New Jersey.
But, especially, I like to remember that early morning in August when Philippe Petit was a man on a wire; an early morning in August when it seemed anything was possible; an early morning in August when one could even believe in miracles; an early morning in August when one man showed it was possible to walk the heavens and come that much closer to god; an early morning in August where the future was yet unknown and still shined brightly before us; an early morning in August 50 years ago today.

So I was browsing some of my recent uploads to make sure you're all following some rules,  and there's some interesting technical stuff there. This makes me happy.
